Your space matters. For better or worse, every single detail of your space comes together to create a feeling. That feeling is felt by you, every time you set foot in your space. The importance of the way your space feels, and thus makes you feel, cannot be overlooked. This truth is the foundation for our unconventional, highly effective design philosophy. Though seldom realized. what clients are after when they reach out to our team is something more powerful and more profound than an aesthetic. Our clients are after a feeling. Our process begins with the
question, "How do you want your space to feel?"
A summer home kitchen remodel that feels like a chilled. bubbly mimosa on a sunny June morning; a new home build that feels like the warm, familiar comfort of the old family recipe; a basement bar that feels like the excitement of youth mingled with the sophistication of a well-aged wine... you name it, we'll nail it.
Oat handmade interiors foster the feelings that you want to feel, the you that you want to be, the experiences you want to have, and the life that you want to live.

"Hoping to gut and remodel a third of our newly purchased home in the Lake Geneva area, my wife and I shopped for someone who could shepherd us through the process. The only person from whom we obtained a quote was Adam St. Marie at Oat Handmade Interiors. We felt no need to look further. One of Adam’s references had grabbed my attention when, by telephone, he described Adam as “scrupulously honest.” That description proved to be accurate.
We described what we wanted and Adam drew several plans which we scrutinized and tweaked. This was a big job...." Click "next" to continue reading A. Rosen's review.

..."the destruction and rebuilding of a master and guest bedrooms, a master and guest bathrooms, a family room and a deck, and the remodeling of hallways and a laundry room... I was entirely comfortable with the presence in my home of every one of the ultimately dozens of people that Adam assigned to our job, especially the wonderful Ian. Although I was often present in the house, I was more often not, and always felt sure that my house was in great hands. Communication was superb. Whether by phone, text message, or email, questions, answers and notifications were always addressed pronto. The original contract was very clear, as was the schedule of payments. We are delighted with the outcome of our project and are excited to share it (honestly, to show it off) to our family and friends."

"Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value
We needed an idea for our kitchen remodel. We’d had a couple of design ideas presented to us, but Adam came up with the best idea! We were wowed! Our kitchen remodel turned out fantastic! Better than we would have imagined. The quality of the cabinets and the design are top of the line. Thank you Adam and Jeremy."

"The Oat team was beyond amazing. We wanted our whole first floor remodeled and Adam gave us impressive design ideas and really listened to what we desired and worked within our budget. The quality of work surpassed any expectations and we were even able to live in our house comfortably with all the work going on... From the beginning to the end we truly enjoyed working with the team. We HIGHLY recommended Oat Design + Build and are so grateful for all their hard work. Thank you!"

"This was our second project with Adam + Oat. Yep, we were THAT pleased with our first encounter! This time, it was a complete kitchen remodel. Adam paid attention to what I wanted while giving creative input that I would never have thought of otherwise. He shows up when promised and kept open communication throughout the project. In the end, Oat gave me my dream kitchen. I would hire them for a third time in a heart beat."

"Our experience with Oat Handmade Interiors for our kitchen remodel was outstanding! Adam did several digital layouts which made our decision much easier and gave us multiple layouts to preview. His design gave us an open concept kitchen, without breaking the bank. Very professional, timely and the final product was AMAZING!"

"Oat Handmade Interiors did a beautiful job on my full kitchen remodel! Brand new two toned cabinets, counter tops, shiplap and built in storage and seating. They are skilled and passionate about the work they do. Creatively, they are versatile and fresh, I felt they really took the time to understand the look and feel that I wanted and then we made it happen! Couldn’t be happier with their work, my kitchen is now my favorite place in the house!"

"We used Oat Handmade Interiors when we needed plans drawn up for a small closet addition. Our builder at the time, was behind and didn’t specialize in drawings. Oat was willing to help us out and did an amazing job in planning out what we needed. Adam is kind, trustworthy and really listened to what we were asking for in the design and came up with the perfect drawings.
Would definitely use Oat Handmade Interiors again in the future!"

No. We did start out as a general contracting company in 2015. However, after three years of transforming countless Lake Geneva, Chicago, and Milwaukee homes, we made the bold decision to narrow our scope of work... best decision we ever made. We are artists at heart; focusing on the niche services that we provide allows us to maintain and further develop our finesse. We believe that the more specific a company's services are, the better the quality they are able to provide.
Yes. We have worked with John Bakken of Wisconsin's Geneva Homes and have found him to be upstanding, both personally and professionally. That said, we tailor your experience to you. On occasion, clients already have a general contractor in mind when they reach out to us. As long as your general contractor is licensed, insured, and has a good local reputation, we'll be happy to accommodate.
... Our favorite question. Yes, yes, and a whole lot of yes. Click through our bespoke product gallery to spot a handmade walnut conference table with 8 charging ports around the perimeter and a connectivity array in the center. Old school craftsmanship and modern tech absolutely is such a satisfying pairing.
Nope! We do have a lot of kitchens in our portfolio, though. We are most interested in spaces that require a lot of specificity -- the kitchen just happens to be one of them. Kitchens, wine rooms, residential bars, commercial restaurants and cafe's, in home libraries, executive offices, custom lighting design + production -- love them all. We're detail junkies.
Absolutely. Every service that we offer can be provided virtually. Our internal organization, expert communication, and visual nature of our software allows us to provide five-star service all across the USA. Online interior designs, online custom cabinet and product design, and online interior decorating plans bring an unexpected level of ease. All selections and custom goods will ship directly to your project site.
The typical turnaround for interior designs is three weeks; the typical turnaround for product and cabinet design is two weeks; the typical turnaround for interior decor is one week. This design time will naturally vary with the size of your project, and the speed of your responsiveness. The typical turnaround can be expedited if need be. We will always give you a promise date when you sign your design contract, and we will always deliver by the promise date.
